  • 3 night extension tour to Mombasa. Journey to the finest beaches in the world bordering the Indian Ocean. Day 1, Monday - USA

Depart from Washington DC's Dulles International airport for your overnight flight via Ethiopian Airlines.

Day 2, Tuesday - Nairobi

Early morning arrival to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and change planes for your ongoing flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival into Nairobi,you will be met by our representatives and transferred to your hotel. Rest of day at leisure to relax at this old colonial style hotel with beautiful gardens. Overnight at the Safari Park Hotel.

Day 3, Wednesday - Nairobi

Morning at leisure for some last minute shopping in the city or take an optional tour to the Diane Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage (you'll want to check first to see if there are any elephants there). In the afternoon you will enjoy an "Out of Africa experience"- a perfect way to bid adieu to Africa. Follow in the footsteps of Karen Blixen as you travel towards the Ngong Hills, you feel swept immediately onto the film set of Out of Africa the moment you arrive. The old colonial farmhouse is simple, housing a few items that Karen Blixen chose and once enjoyed herself. There are also the colorful gardens to explore, where several old coffee machines have laid untouched for decades. From here visit the Giraffe Centre, where the highly endangered Rothschild giraffe lives in peace. With an elevated viewing-cum-feeding platform. Overnight at the Safari Park Hotel.

Day 4, Thursday - Masai Mara National Reserve

Leaving Nairobi after breakfast, you'll travel towards Kenya's fertile highlands and head down the Rift Escarpment on a road built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II. Look for the charming chapel built at the foot of the escarpment. You'll pass the impressive Longonot earth satellite station as you head across the Valley to Narok, and then travel across acres of wheat and barley, before you reach the Masai Mara in time for lunch. Following lunch and a siesta you will enjoy your first game drive into one of the largest and most well known wildlife reserves in Africa. It has an abundane of the "Big Five" wildlife. Return to the lodge as the sun sets. Overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 5, Friday - Masai Mara National Reserve

Today you will enjoy both an early morning and late afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge for lunch. Overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge

Day 6, Saturday - Lake Nakuru

Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast, you'll travel across the 'breadbasket' of Kenya, where acres of wheat and barley litter the landscape as you head north to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. Now travel across the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley, keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle as you head up the Mau Escarpment, before arriving at Lake Nakuru lodge for lunch. The waters here are often coloured shimmering flamingo pink, from thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores. After lunch you will take an afternoon game drive in Nakuru National park . Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 7, Sunday - Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast you will leave Rift Valley behind, as you continue towards Nairobi and then head south towards Amboseli. Enjoy a picnic lunch with an afternoon game drive in the park enroute to the Amboseli Sopa Lodge, set on the foothills of Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kimimanjaro. Arrive to the lodge as the sun sets. Overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.

Day 8, Monday - Amboseli National Park

Enjoy a full day game safari and commence yhour search finding groups of elephants with Mt Kilimanjaro as a backdrop; a true Kodak moment. Amboseli is one of the smaller game parks and the vegetations ensures that the animals are easy to spot. Lions can bee seen occasionally stalking their prey. Enjoy a hot picnic lunch and continue your safari game drive in search of buffalo, zebra, giraffe, gazelle and other plains game. With water streams and swamp channels in the park ou have an opportunity to view pods of hippos. Overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.

Day 9, Tuesday - Departure

Following an early breakfast, you'll catch your last views of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro as you depart Amboseli, viewing game en route to the border of the park. From here turn north along a good tarmac road across the beautiful and seemingly never ending Athi Plains, arriving in Kenya's bustling capital city of Nairobi by mid day and tranfer to the airport for your late night return home via Ethiopian Airlines

Day 10, Wednesday - Washington, DC

Arrival to Washington's Dulles international airport early morning..
